The client faced inefficiencies in their existing reporting process and aimed to overhaul their executive reporting package. Their prior solution, built on an open-source business intelligence tool, required over nine months to develop—resulting in significant delays to critical business insights. The client’s goal was to automate their reporting workflow and redesign the reporting package to deliver clearer visibility and greater accountability across the business.
Our Approach
We structured the reporting overhaul around three core objectives: automating the business model, designing integrated dashboards and reports, and enhancing data analysis.
Collaborating closely with the Director of Finance, we reimagined the dissemination of cross-functional reporting. First, we codified the existing business model and prepared it for automation. Next, we developed dashboards that seamlessly integrated key metrics into the executive board deck.
Finally, the platform established a framework for well-structured data, which enabled us to perform value-added data analysis to validate and support the department’s current business assumptions.
Outcome
Our solution accelerated reporting development from nine months to just six weeks—an 85% improvement in delivery speed. By automating over 70 key business metrics and delivering results directly in an executive PowerPoint report, we provided leaders with rapid, accurate access to critical data. The dynamic dashboards and curated data foundation enabled Finance and management teams to make more informed, timely decisions, fostering greater confidence and accountability across the organization. This scalable approach transformed reporting from a bottleneck into a strategic asset for decision-making.
